My Aunt is giving me money for Tires as a hanukkah gift and Im going to Discount Tire today to pick up some Kumho Kr21 215/70R14 Tires.
And then to Oreilly's to grab a couple of these:
I like white lettering and I'll have some change left over.
Are these tires a good buy?
PS- Thank You Oppo for guiding me through so many of my automotive firsts, it means a lot to have such a great car community to guide me through all of this. Especially considering no one besides me in my family even remotely resembles an automotive enthusiast.

They seemed to do OK in the tire rack's comparison test back in 2007: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/te…
Not great on wet traction, though... and that size is made in China, so build quality is more of a concern than tires made in Japan, Koprea, the USA, etc.

I never knew about the Dupli-Color Hot Tires. And yeah, I love white letter tires!!!! And I also like colored letter tire sin general, like the F1 Pirellis, the yellow-letter Goodyears, etc.
As for the Kumhos, I guess it's the best of what's available in that size.

The cheapest too. Only 48 bucks a tire! For that price I'm getting the spare done too

oh that's definitely not bad!
Do you have an older muscle car, or a small truck? Just wondering because of that tire size

A decent brand under $50/ea? I'd say it's a good buy.

Its so hard to find tires for my truck. Eventually I'm gonna go up to 16" wheels and a lower profile tire. Much more options with the combo

New tires just feels amazing for some reason just like new shoes. So much confidence to drive places and so much grip.
Also painting the letters will take forever!

I have the patience to paint the letters, after all I spend 20+ hours on my drawings. This will be a piece of cake. But I think I'll wait until the snow clears to apply it

you have a 14 inch wheel, aren't those pretty hard to find tires for?

Those tires are exceptionally decent, especially for the price. I would pick those over lots of other tires that are more expensive.
